Learning From Each Other
Group Consultation is a model developed for school staff to learn from each other. It is way to implement strategies and improve practice. The group meet regularly to discuss common issues, network and share insights.
The facilitator keeps the group on track, listens, acknowledges, reframes, summarises and questions. These groups are usually conducted by video link, so it doesn’t matter where you are, we can assist you.
There are Two types of Group Consult offered:
Program 1
Student-Based Group Consultation
Focuses on student-based outcomes.
Assisting staff to manage issues relating to students.
Groups could include:
- Managing students with significant trauma and their associated behaviours.
- How to extend students who are gifted.
- How to assist students who have intellectual disability or a particular diagnosis.
Program 2
Staff-Based Group Consultation
Focuses on staff-based outcomes.
Assisting to manage staff more effectively.
Groups could include:
- Staff in their first two years of experience.
- Staff who have been flagged to become executives in the near future.
- Staff who need extra assistance with classroom management techniques.
- Staff with years of experience who the School, District or Diocese believes are at risk of burn out.
- Particular groups of staff (Teacher’s Aides; Assistant Principals or Principals; Office Staff.)
- We can also assist after a critical incident to have regular check ins with staff to ensure their wellbeing.
